Building Permit Fees

 

Application review fee - $10.00 – Due whether Permit is approved or not

 

Penalty for Starting Work Without a Permit:  Triple the Permit Fee (and possible enforcement action)

 

New houses or dwelling units - $ .30 per square foot

 

Commercial structures and/or commercial additions - $ .35 per square foot

 

New mobile homes, storage buildings, workshops, barns, garages or porches - $ .30 per square foot

 

Foundations, crawlspaces or frost walls - $ .15 per square foot

 

Pouring of concrete pad - $ .15 per square foot

 

Replacement of foundation walls up to 30 linear feet (square footage calculated after 30’) - $ 50.00 fee

 

Building addition - $ .30 per square foot

 

New dormer - $ 25.00

 

New deck - $ 50.00

 

In-ground pool - $ 45.00

 

Above ground pool - $ 30.00

 

All proposed remodeling - $ 150.00

 

Each windmill, including footings - $ 100.00

 

Building permit applications requiring Planning Board review - $ 75.00 Fee in addition to normal Permit fees

 

Wharves and Piers

 

New wharves, piers, ramps, and/or floats (also includes Wharves permit application) - $ 400.00

 

Rebuilt wharves, piers, ramps, and/or floats (if no Wharves permit application required) (Absolutely NO change in any dimension) - $ 75.00

 

Demolition Permit Fee(Covers only the Demolition, not reconstruction)

 

Sheds, outbuildings smaller than 120 square feet - $ 25.00

 

All other buildings - $ 100.00

 

Subdivision Review Fees

 

$ 200.00 per lot or dwelling unit application fee, plus mailing and advertisement costs (Certified Mail)

$ 125.00 per amendment or revision application fee

 

Conditional Use Permit with Site Plan Review Fee

 

$ 275.00 application fee

 

Change of Use Permit Fee

 

$ 50.00 application fee

 

Shoreland Zoning Permit Fee

 

$ 250.00 Planning Board application fee (includes any Planning Board clearing of vegetation for development review)

$ 100.00 per site visit required by the Planning Board, with a $200.00 max.

$  75.00 clearing of vegetation for development and dead diseased or damaged tree removal review fee (if Code Enforcement Officer review only) 

 

Flood Hazard Development Permit Fee

 

$ 250.00 application fee

 

Contract Zoning Application Fees

 

Application/review fee - $ 2,500.00

Publishing and notice fee - $ 10.00 per abutter, plus cost of legal advertisements

Independent consulting fee - $ 750.00 initial deposit, then hourly rate of the consultant, plus reasonable out of pocket costs

Peer Review Escrow - $ 500.00 initial deposit, then hourly rate of the peer reviewer, plus reasonable out of pocket costs

 

Independent Consulting Fee (other than Contract Zoning)

 

$ 500.00 initial deposit, then hourly rate of the consultant, plus reasonable out of pocket costs [balance to be refunded to developer after completion of project]

$ 250.00 application fee.  $ 100.00 per site visit required by the Planning Board, $ 200.00 max.

 

 

Plumbing/Subsurface Wastewater Disposal Permit Fees

 

Internal Plumbing (no minimum, per fixture fee     $ 15.00   (FEE = Total Number X $15.00)

Consider Hook-up as a fixture in calculating fixture fee

                                    Engineered/variance                   $ 250.00

Primitive system (includes one alternative toilet)               $ 150.00

Separate laundry disposal field                                        $   55.00

Seasonal Conversion Permit                                           $ 100.00

 

Includes 5 requested inspections per site.  Additional inspections, whether necessary or requested, will be an additional fee of $30 per visit.
